Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA) has made further appointments to its new senior leadership team.

Building on the appointment of its new chief executive, Hayley Selway, the housing association has recruited Brian Pickett as Corporate Director, Central Services and Stephen Evans as Corporate Director, Tenant Services – both new roles in the restructured organisation.

Commenting on the appointments, Hayley Selway said: “Our recent governance review included the roles within the senior leadership team, resulting in a reconfiguration of the directorates at CCHA. I am delighted that we were able to attract Brian and Stephen to join us at such a crucial time in improvement and growth of our services.

Brian Pickett is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, having qualified in 1994 and more recently obtained an executive MBA from Warwick Business School. He has worked across the public and private sectors, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard Chartered Bank, the Audit Commission, National Audit Office and Welsh Government.

He joins CCHA from Rhondda Housing Association, where he has been finance director since 2015. While at the Welsh Government he was the Head of Innovative Funding for Housing and Regeneration and oversaw the implementation of the Welsh Housing Bond with M&G Investments and a new revenue funding stream to deliver 1,000 new affordable homes across Wales.

Stephen Evans is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has worked in the housing sector for more than 20 years. He has held senior posts in South Wales and the North of England including Taff Housing and, most recently, as Director of Housing at Pobl Group, where he oversaw an innovative range of homes and services for people looking to rent and buy their own home. He also works with colleagues across Wales as chair of the Community Housing Cymru Welfare Reform Delivery Group.
