John Wilkinson

A seasoned communicator, John started his career in 1992 in local government publicity before joining the Benefits Agency as a press officer. Leaving public service in 1997, John has spent the past 13 years in consultancy specialising in issues and media management for a range of private and public sector clients covering portfolios such as financial services, change management, health, tourism, legal services, education, welfare to work, planning and regeneration.

He maintains daily contact with the regional media in South Wales and is an experience media relations practitioner, especially in B2B and corporate situations. He has a thorough working knowledge of the use of social media and its role in modern public relations programmes.

John holds an Advanced Diploma in Communications Studies, with a distinction in PR. He is Treasurer of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in Wales and a Member of Public Affairs Cymru.
